Congratulations to Ricki and Glenn O’Shannessy – expecting their first in February next year

To the Footscray Hockey Club Board and Members,

I wish to sincerely thank all members of the Footscray Hockey Club for their generosity and support over the past few months. When the girls and I were presented with your gift last Thursday we were extremely overwhelmed. Andrew was a real family man. If he wasn’t at home he was at-his beloved Hockey Club. I always used to joke that when hockey season started no work would be done around the house and that I became a hockey widow.

Annalise is really enjoying playing hockey and has improved so much since she joined Footscray rather than Werribee. In the last few weeks we have felt that not only is she playing for Andrew, but that he is out there on the field playing alongside her. I thank the coaches and team for supporting her during this difficult year, especially Angela and Tess who ferried Annalise weekly to training and games.
I would also like to acknowledge all those who visited Andrew during his isolated five months in hospital, especially Darryl Jahnke and Greg Hopkins who were with him the morning that he passed away. The Wayne Kerr team were and always will be true friends.

The small fundraiser at the round 18 dinner raised $300. FHC participated in the Monash University Drink Wise Research Project which the club will receive a further $300. The 2009 Sponsorship Packages are correctly being reviewed and amended and we will see a few changes to the packages for next year.
