Footscray Hockey Club

With the new grounds and 1 million project about to commence after Christmas: a huge push to change the culture of FHC members and visiting clubs will be insisted. The longevity of the new turf will depend on how well we look after it. It will mean all members MUST clean their footwear through the water troughs and insist that other do so. All members are encouraged to be vigilant and ensure visiting clubs clean their footwear too. The F2 ground is scheduled to be completed mid February.

A No Smoking area has been created under the veranda between 3 meters south of the main entry doors to 3 meters north of the male toilets on both sides of the complex. The area is marked with lines on the concrete.

The floor in the clubrooms predominantly under the lino area in front of the canteen will be repaired and replaced by council in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to Naomi and Scott Buckland and on the safe arrival of William Frederick Buckland 24th October 5.11pm 3.7kg.

Every member will receive an information pack in the post about celebration in our 75th year in the New Year. However at the AGM it was announced that next year we will be holding Family Fun Day, 75th Reunion, 75th Commemorative Ball, Trivia Night, Rd 18 Dinner & Presentation Functions. A variety of 75th merchandise and memorabilia will be on sale. More news

Database of Past Players
We are compiling a PAST PLAYERS register which will hopefully enable FHC to contact as many past players as possible and let them know about the activities planned for the Clubs 75th year (2009). This in turn will help us to make the celebrations extra special by involving as many people who have played hockey as possible.

Well the votes have be tallied and the people have spoken. The new shirt was announced at this years AMG and with 60% of the votes here is the new shirt voted by you!

We are currently going through samples with our supplier and look forward to a production run soon. We have 2 years to phase the shirt in so while we plan for the top few teams to start with the shirt straight away some of the Junior and lower grades may still use the original shirt for at least one more season.

The official away shirt will be our existng white shirt.

We have added a no smoking area at the club near the entrance to the clubs rooms. The area is clearly defined by the white lines painted on the ground. Please respect this area and the patrons in it during the coming season by smoking outside of it.

Well the annual AGM has come and gone. Thank you to everyone who attended. It was good to see everyne after a few months off and hear news of the new developments around the club.
