The Uniform Committee would like to remind all members who have not been fitted for uniforms to see Heather or Karen a.s.a.p to order your 2009 playing uniform. The uniform shop is open Tuesday nights 5.30pm—7.00pm. You can often catch Heather Shaw or Karen Johnstone at the club on Wednesday and Thursday nights also. Now that our on-field uniform is under way, the uniform committee will be working on the introduction of brand new designs of “off field” apparel such as tracksuits, polo tops, jumpers, singlets and 75th Commemorative polos. We apologise that the uniform cupboard does not have stock of these items at the moment, however please be assured that there will be brand new stock available soon. The uniform committee will be presenting for approval these new items at the next board meeting Monday April 6th.

The deadline for the State League Team Sponsorships is due Friday 27th March to be in the draw. All State League Team Sponsor’s will be included in the April Banter. You may have noticed some of the business advertising on each page of the Banter. All members are invited to participate in our 2009 Player Sponsorship or Sponsorship Initiatives.

The F2 re-surface project is well on the way as many of you have noticed whilst at FHC for summer/pre-season activities, the grass is scheduled to be laid Wednesday 25th February and whether permitting should be completed by the 15th March. We trust the inconvenience of F2 out of action until the project is complete is well worth the wait!

The canteen has been given a fresh coat of paint and a face lift by Neil Coster ad the lino in the clubrooms has been replaced by the Maribyrnong Council. We are currently seeking quotes on the installation of a cool room for all our beverage and food supplies.

Yes, at this stage we are compiling a PAST PLAYERS register which will hopefully enable FHC to contact as many past players as possible and let them know about the activities planned for the Clubs 75th year
(2009). This in turn will help us to make the celebrations extra special by involving as many people who have played hockey as possible. We need your help to compile this PAST PLAYERS register. If you know any former players no longer at the club please send us their details, such as:

The recent tragedies of the “Black Saturday” fires have saddened all families and friends of FHC and our thoughts and sympathies go out to all the families who have lost their homes and in particular lost loved ones. We recently learnt of Eileen Scott, a FHC ladies member who played over 100 games during 1996 – 2001 and was ladies club champion in 1994 and 1995, losing her house in the Church Hill fires.

Luckily she narrowly escaped with her 7 month old daughter and no one was injured. This is the only FHC past member we have heard being directly effected by the fires.
