Well done to all teams who made the finals and those who made grand finals in September this year. Congratulations to all the Runners Up Premiers and Premiership teams. 5 Premiership Teams and 3 Runners Up Teams is a credit to the tremendous work of the board, players and volunteers of our club. Again we have been awarded Best Junior Girls Club in Victoria, and 2nd in the overall Best Junior Club by a narrow margin.
The end of the season dawned the beginning of preparations for FHC to host the largest Hockey Tournament in Australia – The Australian Veterans Championships. If I was to list all the volunteers who filled the 2400 hours on the helpers roster, those who assisted in the working bees, set up/pack-up, not to mention the volunteers who spent the entire 2 weeks at the club…there would be no room left in this Banter for other club news. So FHC would like to thank all the volunteers for the Tournament and throughout the entire 2009 year by inviting them to a Volunteers Morning Tea on Sunday 6th December after the AGM (around 12pm). All FHC members, parents and friends who have contributed extra volunteer hours (over and above a “normal” rostered umpiring, watering or canteen duty for home matches as a part of your “normal” club duty) are invited to attend. Good luck to those playing summer Hockey! I will see you all on my return from Hong Kong with the Australian Veterans Team
