June Tournaments
A terrific big thank-you to all of those that volunteered some time to the Club through our June ‘Tournament’ season. Many hands made the workload much more achievable. Funds raised from running these carnivals so successfully will enable us to add some vital extra’s to this Octobers major capital works program on F1. Special thanks to those who dedicated entire days to the events.
V.I.P Sponsors Function
Thank you to the work from Tom Griffin, Scott Wood, Rico, Nicole & Giulia Virtuoso for running a successful Sponsor’s Function. Special thanks to Julie who lent a hand when those organising the event had to pick up a hockey stick and play! Around 100 people enjoyed the day.
Vale Ron Govan
Ron Govan, Founding Member and Life Member of Footscray Hockey Club passed away Thursday 10th June 2010 at age 92. We will hold fond memories of his time involved with Footscray Hockey Club and he will be sadly missed. We are also saddened to hear of the loss of Kevin Cosgriff, Brent Cosgriff’s father. Kevin was a keen supporter of Brent’s hockey at FHC.
Second Half of the Season
On a happier note with over half the season gone and 8 rounds to go the club have numerous Junior and Senior teams sitting in top four and getting ready to maintain their lead to secure their spot and contest the finals. Those teams outside the four should have a string determination to make the best of their last 8 games and give the opposition a contested fight to make the top 4. Best of luck to all those players, Coaches and Managers.
