A humongous thanks to everyone who helped out for the preparation or volunteering during the Junior State Championships from Thu 4th July to Sun 7th July at FHC. We have received many compliments from visitors, teams, officials and HV about what terrific hosts we are.

The terrific parking, facilities and refreshments among the compliments. But most importantly everyone has raved about how friendly, helpful and welcoming the environment created by our great band of volunteers is. Great job by everyone involved.

Thanks to the coordinators Marj Aked for ensuring the canteen was stocked, Nicole Virtuoso/Mark White for managing canteen/facility across the 4 days, Colin Braithwaite/Colin Payne/Brendan Sheehan for preparing the venue and John Preston/Graham Whinney for cleaning the pavilion & grounds every day.

Please see below an e-mail to the FHC board which typifies the feedback we are receiving.

This marked the last of the major tournaments FHC host for season 2013 and thanks to everyone who has helped during a tournament weekend!

Thanks again!

Kind Regards,

To the FHC Board,

I’d like to congratulate you as a club for the great positive and welcoming image the club was during the JSC. I was there as a Technical Official, a Team Manager and as a parent, so I saw it through different eyes.

The folk working at the food and beverage places were always smiling, helpful and looked like they wanted to be there. The choices were great and many people didn’t bring a roll the second time they came to Footscray, as they said they had such a great one last time.

I’ve written to my zone Co-ordinator (Tigers) that as a team we highly recommend using this as an alternative option again and sent the same to CEO of Hockey Victoria Ben Hartung and Operations Manager Andrew Skillern  – it provided great parking, great facilities for watching the games and getting out of the weather, great food and beverages, and there was just an environment of warmth and you were welcome.

So thank you to all who made it happen.
