Footscray Hockey Club are thrilled to announce the appointment of Lachlan Anderson as Head Women’s Coach for 2014. Lachlan comes with extensive playing and coaching experience at the elite level. He has played his hockey career at Essendon, albeit 6 years for Waverley from age 13 – 21. Representing Victoria from U15’s – U21’s and State School Boys U16 and U18 (captain). He played National League for 5 years (2 with Vic, 2 with NT, 1 S.A).
Currently working at Wesley College teaching P.E and psychology, he is also the head hockey coach for all 3 campuses. He has coached numerous junior teams at club level, assistant coach for state school boys teams and was the ESS Men’s Premier League Coach in 2013. Assist coach VIS Europe Trip in Holland/Belgium, he also works with the current Vikings. Assistant coach for the Vic U18 Boys for 3 years 2010 – 2012, and U18 coach in 2013. Over recent years involved in coaching with the Hockey Australia Futures program.
From his teaching background, playing career and coaching forte, we are very excited that he will be leading our Women’s section through the next chapter of our bright future.
We will be calling for expressions of interest for the coaching of Reserves through to Metro 3 of it’s 2014 season Ladies teams (ad will soon appear on the FHC website and on the H’Vic notice board). From Premier League Reserves down to Metro 3 all 8 positions are up for grabs, and will be awarded to candidates who best match our growing Club’s needs. Of course it is encouraged that many of our current coaches will throw their hats in the ring.
