The Footscray Hockey Club Women’s Section first began in 1936. In 2010 we are 8 teams strong and after a tremendous 2009 season, the girls are rearing to make this year an even bigger success. Congratulations to our 2009 grand final teams, SL3, M2N & M4N Blue won Premierships, M1N came Runners Up.
This year the ladies coaching panel hopes to prioritise the development of junior players into senior grade teams. SL2 coach Glenn Lloyd enters his 6th year of coaching with Bobbie Skilton as Assistant Coach. Rod Lloyd will lead another year in Pennant B with Geoff Peacock as an Assistant Coach. Fidz has been appointed as the Metro 1 North Coach, after Kara taking a well deserved break in coaching after the birth of her son! Lynda Thomas will be coaching the M3 team with the intention to blood a few of the younger juniors and give them exposure to playing senior hockey. I am currently seeking coaches/managers for the M1S, M2N, M3S and M4N teams.
The ladies section would not run so efficiently without the support of volunteers and I would appreciate any support you can give this year.
