FHC board have been reviewing the latest information and climate across this afternoon and evening and made the decision to cancel all training, practice matches and use of the grounds/facilities effective immediately. Our previous post from earlier today has been deleted.
Whilst some of our members and hockey community may be disappointed, we need to recognise the trend that is occurring and foresee that a shutdown is just a matter of time. Several hockey clubs in Melbourne have ceased operations in the past 24 hours and some other states in Australia have shut down hockey state wide, not to mention what is occurring in many other community sports.
We wish our players, coaches, supporters and wider hockey community all the best during these unprecedented and challenging times and will be in touch with further news and updates as this situation progresses.
