TRIGGER WARNING: suicide and self harm
Many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer people and other sexuality and gender diverse (LGBTIQ+) people live healthy and happy lives, BUT research has demonstrated that a disproportionate number experience poorer mental health outcomes and have higher risk of suicidal behaviours than their peers.
These health outcomes are directly related to experiences of stigma, prejudice, discrimination and abuse on the basis of being LGBTIQ+.
FHC believes in fair access to sport for all people. We proudly celebrate pride round every year to celebrate and shine the light on our incredible LGBTQIA+ community!
Mental health and mental illnesses can be hard to manage and if you need help there are lots of places to find support.
The best place to get support is with mental health professionals.
It is ok not to be ok. It is ok to ask for help.
