The 89th AGM was held at the club and well attended in person, online or via proxy. The club reported an extremely successful year, exceeding all expectations. The club’s largest priority was to bounce back after 2 years of interrupted seasons due to the pandemic and regain our pre COVID-19 program on field and off field. In the 2022 season, the club fielded 8 Men’s, 8 Women’s, 6 Masters and 25 Junior Teams, plus the U6 Hookin2Hockey Program. Together with summer indoor and outdoor, 630 members have enjoyed the services the club provided.
Looking ahead, the club is aiming to achieve similar membership numbers as this year, renew the strategic plan, deliver the League Entry Criteria 2023, repair the watering system on ASF and deliver four major tournaments. We will continue to work with Maribyrnong council on upgrading to LED lighting and the McIvor Reserve Masterplan, which includes new ASF dugouts, grandstand seating, new foliage planting and surrounding pedestrian and car park lighting.
The club thanked retiring board members Rodney Johnstone for 20 years of service and gave thanks to Nick Gill, Mel Morton and Simon Borger. We fondly remembered the passing of Life Member Leon Gale.
We are happy to announce the 2023 Board of Directors.

The board is currently seeking a Treasurer for next season, a role that is integral to our operations and is supported by a finance subcommittee. Volunteers for the role will require a finance or book keeping background and the club would welcome any expressions of interest from within our community of members, which obviously includes our ever-growing and highly engaged community of parents from within our junior section. If you’re interested in finding out more about what the role entails, please e-mail president@footscrayhockey.com.au
Wishing you and your families a wonderful festive season and we’ll see you all for season 2023.
