Although we proudly celebrate our 90th year, there were a few occasions where club membership and our existence was put to the test.
1942 – Committee decides against disbanding club, after only having 8 players throughout the entire season (war duties)
1974 – Administrative disagreements caused a split in the club. A large number of men’s players left to form Sunshine Mens Hockey Club, or join new club Werribee.
1990 – Due to dwindling numbers, no women’s teams were entered for the 1990 season. A number of remaining players joined RMIT, and this remained the case until 1994, when one women’s team was entered in ML4 (equivalent of VL3).
