We are saddened to hear of the peaceful passing of life long FHC supporter Arthur Toussaint, after a short illness.
Although never having played himself, the family lived opposite Johnson Reserve and Arthur encouraged both his children Nigel and Damien to commence juniors. Nigel and Damien continue to play to this day and contribute to junior coaching and volunteering. Damien is on the board of directors and a life member.
All of his 5 grandchildren have played at the club, with three taking their hockey to the next levels and continue to play to this day, Lachie, Sage and Archie.
Arthur loved the Footscray Hockey Club and its people. He valued community sport and the importance of volunteerism. He watched hundreds of games, was a loud supporter and became an expert of the game.
We share our condolences to the family. The funeral will be held at 1.30pm Thursday 18th September @ St James Old Cathedral, West Melbourne with refreshments held back at Footscray Hockey Club from 3.30pm.
