To all FHC players, coaches and supporters. This is an update following the HV forum held last night. The 2020 winter season has been cancelled (and the Junior State Championships) due to the extended Melbourne lockdown. This covers all competitions including juniors, seniors and masters.
As a board we are extremely disappointed that we cannot proceed with any competitions this winter, but understand the decision in light of the recent spike in COVID cases. I would like to thank the section directors Nicole, Andy, Mel and Damien for all of their hard work preparing for the season under much duress. Thanks to Karen, Scott, Neil, Brendan and Nick for ensuring the venue was cleaned regularly, bookings sorted, budgets revamped, F2 project continuing, pavilion fit out, and liaising with Council on COVID19 rules to name a few tasks.
Thanks to all the coaches and players who have been enthusiastically training within the rules to get ready for games and our coordinators and volunteers working hard in the background.
We are keen to plan for our summer season at FHC with our FHC run Senior Monday Mixed competition and junior programs. HV are planning an 8 week summer comp at this stage for juniors, seniors and masters. There will also be indoor competition over summer.
Keep up your individual training and exercise. Look out for group online activities, stay connected and stay safe. Further updates will be released as they come to hand. 2021 will be bigger than ever with a new pavilion and new F2 to enjoy.
Go Doggies.
Take care,
Rodney Johnstone
