We are pleased to announce that our President for season 2022 will be Nicole Virtuoso.
We take this opportunity to thank RJ for his 8-year tenure as President of the Club. RJ will be continuing on the board as Sponsorship Director for 2022 and we are grateful to have him continue as part of the Club’s leadership. RJ has been on the board for 19 years and his knowledge of the Club and our members is invaluable for the success of the Club.
He has done an outstanding job to lead the club through COVID and we are grateful for the work he has put in over the last 8 years particularly.
During his tenure, the club has achieved a lot but here are some of the highlights:
– Community Club of the Year in 2018 and 2021;
– Solidified the position of our 1s teams in Premier League as a solid competitor;
– Secured quality coaching through all levels of the club;
– Maintained the Club’s reputation as a family friendly and inclusive environment; and
– Kept costs low to allow more people to join the FHC community.
RJ would like to pass on the following message to our members and the wider FHC community:
“The key to running a club smoothly is to get great people around you. The achievements of the Club and projects like the Pavilion refurbishment and replacement of F2 turf are due to the efforts of the entire Board and Club volunteers as a whole. I am pleased to have been in the chair during some really terrific re-developments, on and off-the field, and thank all who have assisted me and the Club to success, along the journey.
FHC is a great family club and inclusive of players of all abilities – this is what pleases me most that we encourage all to have a go in a friendly environment. I wish the new President and the Boards of the future continued success for FHC.”
Following RJ’s successful tenure as President, we now welcome Nicole to the role.
Nicole has been on the board for 20 years and has been Vice President for a number of years, learning from and working with outgoing president Rodney Johnstone.
Nicole brings a wealth of experience to the role and has large shoes to fill to continue RJ’s successful tenure. Nic is especially looking forward to (hopefully) having a full season in 2022 including a full program of events in our completed facilities!
Her key focuses this year are:
– Ensuring we meet Hockey Victoria’s new Premier League Entry Criteria;
– Supporting Junior pathways;
– Fostering inclusion;
– Having competitive teams at all levels; and
– Organisation of volunteers through the expansion of our sub-committees.
Nicole will continue as Womens Director while taking on her new role as President.
We look forward to season 2022 and Stand Out Cup this weekend!
