In fantastic news, Footscray Hockey Club have been announced by Hockey Victoria as a host venue for the U8 and U10 competitions in Term 2, 3 and 4 in 2024. A massive restructure of how grass roots hockey is delivered by clubs across Melbourne, the venue based competition will see mixed hockey 5 teams from other clubs (including our own FHC teams) play at Footscray, every week at the same time on a Saturday morning.

HV state ‘venue-based competition make it simpler and more convenient for new and existing parents and junior participants to engage with the sport of hockey. It will enhance the transition between the School Clinics (Roadshows), Hookin2Hockey and Junior Competition offerings, whilst, also providing a lively and engaging environment for participants, parents and club administrators alike.’

FHC U8 and U10 teams will train Wed 5.30pm and U6 hookin2hockey program will continue to run on Wed 5.15pm.

If you have a child who is interested in attending a Come and Try, trying hockey at club level or keen to join us at the Kennel, please e-mail come-and-try@footscrayhockey.com.au
