There were terrific scenes at Footscray Hockey Club as we hosted the culmination of the Over 55’s Women’s Masters competition. There were 4 teams, who played each other 3 times each making 12 regular rounds, then 1 Grand Final night with a 3 v 4 playoff and 1 v 2 grand final.
The reason this comp has concluded so early is that around half of the players are heading over to the World Masters Tournament.
The scores were super close, which indicates the competitiveness of this competition. The FHC team came third overall.

Hopefully this competition will grow in team numbers as the years progress and a shout out to our President Nicole Virtuoso who assisted in driving the creation of this new competition and Geri Karla for being a terrific team manager and advocate for this competition forming. We can’t wait to see the O55 competition back in action next year!
