It is with sadness that we hear of the passing of Robert (Bobby) Skilton after a short illness. Bobby joined the club in 1967, played 105 junior games before making his senior debut in 1974. He played 320 senior games and 230 masters games, with a total of 655 club games. Bobby played in the Men’s State League 3 premiership in 1985, the year the club won a record 5 men’s grand finals. He represented Victoria in the 1968 U12 team.
The family have been involved in the club in various coaching, team managing and administration roles to support their children through juniors and seniors. Bobby was assistant coach to good mate and head coach Glenn Lloyd in the Women’s 1sts State League 3 premiership team in 2009. Bobbie’s daughter Jaimee Skilton played in the team and she continues to play today.
Bobby was a terrific club member, contributor and character and will be missed. Our sincere condolences to Tracy, Brent and Jaimee Skilton, Stephanie, Tex and Tully, the extended family, his colleagues, friends and hockey mates.
