After securing their Grand Final spot last Friday in a thrilling 7–6 penalty shootout, our U14 Mixed District team faced the number-one-ranked Melton side for the premiership.
It was a hard-fought contest, with our team creating plenty of opportunities and producing some beautiful passages of hockey to earn several penalty corners. At the other end, they defended courageously against everything Melton threw at them.
With the scores still locked at 0–0 when the full-time whistle sounded, Footscray had one final penalty corner—and they made it count!
A dramatic 1–0 victory after the final whistle secured the premiership and completed an incredible finals campaign.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches, team officials and supporters—our U14 Mixed District team are the 2026 PREMIERS!
