Footscray Hockey Club has been invited to supply 36 children (ages 5-12) from our junior section to be ‘Match Mascots’ of the Women’s Gold Medal Match at the International Festival of Hockey (IFOH) on Sunday 12th November at 4.45pm @ State Netball Hockey Centre (SNHC). First in best dressed, please respond by Sunday 19th October!

The International Festival of Hockey is a short Men’s & Women’s tournament of 6 sides, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, USA, Pakistan and Japan. With FHC’s Women’s Premier League Co-Captain Lily Brazel in the Australian Hockeyroos side, we hope that Australia will be playing in the Women’s Gold Medal Match!

Upon arrival to the SNHC, Match Mascots and 1 adult carer will receive free entry to the State Netball Hockey Centre for the day. Mascots are required to wear a PLAIN white t-shirt and black shorts/skirt. A Hookin2Hockey reversible singlet will be provided to wear over their white top on the day.

Children will need to meet in the SNHC foyer outside the cafe at 4.00pm and once they have finished walking the players out, will be taken back to the foyer. Children will then be able to watch the match.

Children are welcome to arrive to enjoy the earlier finals matches: Women’s Bronze 1.15pm, Men’s Bronze 3.00pm. Then stay for the Women’s Gold 4.45pm and the Men’s Gold 6.30pm.

If you’d like to confirm that your child (or children) will attend the match, can wear the correct clothing and be at the meeting place at the SNHC at 4.00pm on Sunday 12th November, please e-mail nicolevirtuoso@gmail.com

In addition to FHC providing Match Mascots, we are also be required to arrange a Match Mascot Coordinator. This person will be responsible for the management and coordination of the mascots on game day. Match Mascot Coordinators must hold a current Working with Children’s Check (Volunteer or Employee) to undertake this position. If you are interested in being FHC’s Match Mascot Coordinator please contact Nicole nicolevirtuoso@gmail.com

Thank you in advance of your children participating if they are interested and available.
