The 2017 season is wrapping up and we wish all the teams who are in finals contention to play hard be successful, all the teams who are edging into the finals to give it their best, and those who are not going to make finals finish the season with some wins and make it difficult for your opposition.

It has certainly been a busy season and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the board, coordinators, coaches, team managers and volunteers for all your efforts to make the 2017 season a good one. Our youngest age groups are winding up and looking forward to presentation evenings in coming weeks.
WEBSITE
We have launched a new website for the club! It is mobile and small screen friendly, updated with all the relevant information and is promotes all the facets of our club very professionally. PAVILION
We’ve had councillors visit the FHC pavilion and grounds and hopefully it has drummed up enough support towards our Pavilion redevelopment project in coming council meetings. Maribyrnong Council have annouced a 1.25 million dollar committment to the redevelopment of the pavilion. Please refer to other Banter article.
LOOKING FOR A WWC CHECK COORDINATOR
Footscray Hockey Club is looking for a WWC Check Coordinator. This is an administrative role that can be completed via e-mail. It involves keeping our WWC Check Data Base up to date, liaising with Men’s, Women’s and Junior Section Directors about who needs a check, e-mailing information to those who may require a check (or renew), receiving photo’s of their WWC Check cards and tick on data base. HOCKEY VICTORIA AWARDS DINNER
Coming up on September 20 is the annual Hockey Victoria (HV) dinner and awards presentation function. On this night the HV Premier League Best and Fairest awards are announced, as well as their men’s and women’s Premier League ‘Teams of the Year’. Best wishes to FHC Premier League players re achieving some personal glory on the night. Premier League players and the hockey community are invited to attend.
FHC purchases a table at this function each year and presents the tickets to our Board members as a sign of our appreciation for the work that they do each year. Have a great night Board members!
